In lieu of conversation, you get music. Today, some soukous and some classic rumba from el Grand Maître Colossus
. . . and explains what the sebene is really all about so don’t let anyone who talks about it after this scare you.
To kick this session off, Lokassa ya Mbongo brings out his tricked-out (or is that “pimped out” these days?) guitar and seriously gets down to a quasi-mambo tune that is just seriously rocking.
Now, one more thing, the rumours going around are patently false, I am a “cultured” fellow who actually listens to music that is not rumba (but I cannot carry a tune or hold a note to save my life).
Here, I’ll prove it, I often listen to Glenn Miller and his big bad orchestra choo choo right along . . .
. . . and I also listen to Miriam Makeba and Mr. Belafonte . . .
. . . so there.
Thats all folks, schools out and we are all done for today.
