I do not much time to do much of anything tonight but I do want to make sure that I post something for the week – I will put off the remaining requests for another week and post a few of the vinyl conversions that I have done to this point.

This week’s track of the week is actually more like “set of the week”. I can not even remember how I found Dylan Drazen about 2 years ago. Back then, I discovered his Barbecue set of mixes, more than 4 hours of downtempo vocal and progressive house jams that are so mellow as to almost qualify as funk.
I had not been to his site for a while and thought I should pop back and see if the newer stuff is even better than the old.
Well, it is and then some.
If you asking, I recommend you start with Barbecue 1 and work your way into the other 5 mixes in the set.

Steve,
This music is wonderful. Since you seem to be fairly savvy about the Tanzanian variety, perhaps you could give us Orchestra Makassy’s “Molema” if you can find it. It’s one very groovy tune. I live in Italy and the stores over here just won’t order some record labels for those of us who haven’t got the confidence to try Amazon, so discovering your blog has been a wonderful online experience.
Steve,
thanks so much taking the trouble to digitize these. I really enjoyed hearing them, especially Zuwena pt 2, which rocks.
Terriffic! More music of the same period and taste here:

big up !! I really enjoy hearing those deep tunes. very good selection indeed. more ?
Once more Steve you have outdone your self. The Dylan Drazen mix is so distilled, subtle and well balanced. It is a genius piece of work. I shared it with my colleagues, and we have now become fans. Thanks for the great work you do
