An update: Sunday Jan 27th 9 am EST

All, something is wrong at my hosting service – I am getting errors with all linked to files. I have given them a call and I hope they will have it fixed soon.

An update: Sunday Jan 27th 11 am EST
Links seem to be back: the guys at 1&1 indicated that the problem was of the “user” type (meaning I touched stuff that I should not have).

I should also mention that I tried once again to fix all the links to older files that some of you commented were not working.

Let me know if you have any issues.

It has been a while since I posted. I think early December was the last time a musical link post went up.

With all that has been going on back in Kenya post our December 2007 elections, I am not sure where I stand. I am still trying to figure it out and I am hoping that I can find a way to continue doing this.

In the meantime, one more post.

I know that there have been more than 20 requests since my last post and that there have been a ton of unanswered comments. I hope to get to them soon. Please be patient and bear with me.

East African rhumba circa 1970/1980Afro 70 Band – 02 Nambie Kweli

East African rhumba circa 1970/1980Afro 70 Band – 01 Week End

These tracks are certainly a repost of music I picked up at another African music blog somewhere but I cannot for the life of me seem to remember where now. The google did not help either.

Can anyone be of assistance?

An update: it seems that I “stole” this from Likembe which is my favorite music blog right now. Which should tell you that I dig what John B is doing no end. After all, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. (thanks Kabuga!)

Steve, I dislike blogtag; I didn’t really mean to tag you with silliness. I only did the alphabet thing because it was easy to do from my Bloglines list. I appreciate your struggle about blogging under the circumstances. What I always love about your blog is how you celebrate the good that people create. I love your music posts. But I always remember the picture you posted of your little fireman. There is so much at stake, and in every post you remind us what’s worth living for. I send you my greetings, and prayers for Kenyans everywhere.

hey John, don’t let it bother you.

    Checked the archives.

    Nothing.

    At all.

I am disappointed that I cannot step up and deliver here. I will go to my oracles and see what they can dig up for me.

On the other hand some good news – Hugh Masakela is in TO next weekend.

    I CANNOT WAIT!
