Many thanks for the music updates and Happy 2008. Sorry about Kenya’s situation and I hope our African leaders or rather rulers should wake up one time to forster unity.

We have a country run by a set of leaders who have demonstrated beyond all doubt that their primary concern is not the people whom they want they want to lead even when what we needed for them to do was step up and lead.

I mean, look at the tripe they would have us swallow. Even a moron can see that what they are selling ain’t whats on the street.

I am not sure what it next for us.

  4. Hunter says:

Hey Steve, yer ol’ pal Hunter J. Moyes here…

I just wanted to stop in and sa Hello, and to wish you the best in the New Year. I’m super-keen into the world of Daptone Records – a Brooklyn-centric collection of renaissance artists covering funk and soul like the world hasn’t seen for a while – but I’ve still got your link, so I’ll be mixing some of your sweet sounds into my rotation.

Please accept my best to you and your family for as far as future extends.

    Cheerio!

Hunter!!! There’s a name I have not heard shouted out for a while. I found your site. Excellent picture by the way. Very sharp look. And the black and white does something extra for it.

How are things? Are you back in town to enjoy the storm? Can’t get enough snow out west?

Now, here is the thing: I went searching and found Daptone. I’m not sure about the faux 70s vibe they have going on on the website (and on the clothes they have on the album cover art) but the music and especially that Sharon Jones, now, her voice, I can dig.

    Thanks for the heads up!

    Any other tips?

Just found your site while searching for music by Nyadundo from Kenya! Anyways, love the songs you have here. Is it possible to download them from your site?
I am in eastern WA by Idaho, cold but no snow. the wood stove is wonderful and warming the old house, my dog Porkchop (aussie mix) is basting his rump by the fire, and I am painting, (canvas’s now). Been listening to these guys: Tanzania – Bongo Flava – Saida Karoli – and
Binti Kiziwi….so you guys want some old hungarian gypsy music( I’m hung.). many happy regards to you all
