It was a teenage wedding, and the old folks wished them well
You could see that Pierre did truly love the madamoiselle
And now the young monsieur and madame have rung the chapel bell,
“C’est la vie”, say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell
(for those of you who may want some help like me, try this)
I am in an excellent mood, looking forward to a weekend with my boys doing stuff – and I have a ton of new music from a friend and have jut began to enjoy it after my computer sorta came back to life in a half-dead but alive-ish zombie sorta-way.
All of today’s tracks are from Les Mangelepa whom I have blogged about in the past.
[edit]
thanks for the heads up on the incorrect write up Doug. This is what happens when you let people like me run something. Like Chuck just said, “C’est la vie”, say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tellThe commentary and images should now be fine:
[/end edit]Up today is some of their more difficult to find work including Pambana pambana, Walter and Trouble from their album 2nd Anniversary.
And in an amazing piece of news, it turns out that Mangelepa has been in the studio working on a new album.
Enjoy

Great stuff!!
I would kindly request mbilia bel’s “Desole”
Best regards
It looks like your commentary mixed Super Mazembe with Les Mangelepa. Though the graphics are Super Mazembe, the tracks posted are indeed, Les Mangelepa. Still, it’s the music that counts and this is music to treasure.
Matiko are you sure it is not Douceur? I don’t remember Desole

Thank you.
Steve;
Great to see this band get some post time; Les Mangelepa is one of my fave raves. The press release link above is dated Aug 07. “Golden Voices” (listed on the Stern’s Site) was released Dec 07; could this be the album referred to in the article?
Pambana is a personal favorite. The first 3 1/2 minutes of this track seem to defy dancers everywhere, but when it’s time to get down to business, they do deliver the goods.
Hi, Steve,
Thanks again for the good stuff and allow me to reply Esororo, thus:
@ Esororo, I dont know if you are a fun of soukous/rhumba from Congo. I blogged and found the same track name at Wikipedia Encyclopedia as Desole. Yes of course, there is this track, “Douceur’ from the “Welcome album”.
best regards
Matiko,
Thank you, If it exits I will try find it. I am a fun of soukous/rhumba for years going back to the 50s to present.
Good day
Habari gani Mutunga,
You had asked about the photo on homepage it has taken me a few days to think about it not to ignore you. To the Left that is what I called the Hilton and Hilton Restaurant side by side. That was my house back in the days. To the back and Right is my brothers’ house also known as the “State House” and its restaurant in those days. It reminds me where I have been and where I come from. I have wonderful memories in the Hilton. A Turntable with 45s and 33s if you know what I am talking about. Looking at the restaurant doesn’t look that good, but it worked. I will but up my current house in the next week so, you can see how far one can travel.
Thanks for asking.
Hi Esororo,
Thanks for the information. It’s a lovely setting for a house. There was a hill just like that near my old primary school, but I gather that Safaricom have put up a monstrous booster right on the summit! Talk of environmental pollution. I hope to upload Fc 105 tomorrow when I get back to a broadband connection.
Hi Esororo,
I’ve uploaded Franco’s Fc105. You’ll find it here:
