Just a mis-mash of some of the stuff that I have been listening to this week.

All of these tunes I have picked up in my travels to various spots on the interwebs so if you have seen one or all before, my apologies.

Enjoy.

East African rhumba circa 1970/1980DDC Mlimani Park Orchestra – Hasira

East African rhumba circa 1970/1980La Vie – Franco

East African rhumba circa 1970/1980Morogoro Jazz – Pole Dada

This should be Franco but I am not sure who he performs with, can anyone help?

East African rhumba circa 1970/1980Liberte

East African rhumba circa 1970/1980Magereza Jazz Band – Nalala Nakuota

East African rhumba circa 1970/1980Magereza Jazz Band – Fatuma Mwanangu

This is a beautiful track and the story is interesting as well in that it echoes the old “Girl, you done gone and left me” country ethos.

East African rhumba circa 1970/1980Moji & The Tropicals – Duniani Mateso

Finally, if you are new to the site or trying to figure out how to do something on the site, please read this.

I see Moji’s song is listed on Ebay this week:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&item=350089281387

It says he’s from Congo. Does anyone know when this record came out or have any other information on the artist? The other side of the single is Let’s Live Together.

Thanks for the tip Doug – I did not have this LP and you better believe I am bidding on it. I know nothing about the artist or the record.

People, the moment I have it in my hands, we get to listen to the B-side.

    Chris

I am having troubles with my service provider, file permissions seem to be spontaneously changing on some tracks and my uploads are being truncated.

I have fixed them (for the third time) and the tracks should be available for download now. Lets see if they change again.

    @ Vincent

    Who did this tracks?

  12. Vincent says:

    Esororo:

That’s the prob. I can’t quite remember the artists although I suspect Slim Ali’s involvement in Teke wa titi. May be some sort of Franco’s involvement in the other two…

    Any leads? :)

    regards,

    Vince
